Throughout the film some similarities that it has to what ive learned about the holocaust is basically everything like the camps, the mean guards, the dead bodies. As well as the unfareness qnd the corruption of society. The one thing that was different was the livelyness of the father not many people would show that much happiness in a camp that works hem as slaves just to kill them but, the film focuses on it, it thrives on the father and his enthusiasm to keep his family alive. Even if he doesnt survive, he sacrifices himself to save his family, and thats what really matters.
During the film it was lighthearted until the events that occured in the end, compared to actual holocaust which im sure was way more brutal and heavily guarded, and you probably could not have gotten away with the things shown in the movie. The fathers persona was very positive yet fake, he knew what was in store for him,but kept the innocence of his son intact until the very end.
The film shows life is beautiful, by showing the humanity faith restoring actions of the very lively father, with his constant positivity and will for life throughout the film. It also showed that not everyone is bad and that their are people who will fight for you and your well being when you arein need.
